Transport, budget & booking plans Expand to compare weather, accommodation areas and airport transport
From planning to booking: what should you decide first?
Choose your cities and dates, then check the weather, accommodation address and airport arrival time together. Compare the total cost, connections and luggage conditions of public transport and vehicle transfers before booking.
Planning suggestions from Jin’s Travel, rather than price rankings or accommodation endorsements. Check actual operating and booking conditions in the linked guides and with the provider.
Weather and packing: separate averages from forecasts
Use monthly temperature and rainfall averages to compare travel seasons, then check the actual forecast before packing. A monthly mean is neither a daytime high nor a night-time low; do not choose clothing from that single number.
Check your city’s weather and forecast →Climate values use 1991–2020 station observations, not forecasts. Sources, collection times and observation counts are shown on the climate page.
Accommodation: start with the exact address
Check the journey between the airport service’s drop-off point and the accommodation address. Even a station-area stay can involve different connections, stairs and walking distances. For late arrivals, compare the last service departure with the accommodation’s check-in hours.
With luggage or a stroller, check lifts and vehicle luggage limits. With children, check seating and child-seat conditions before booking.
Budget: distinguish per-person fares from vehicle totals
For public transport, check fares per traveller and any connecting journey. For vehicles, check passenger and luggage limits and whether tolls, late-night charges and waiting fees are included. Compare the same direction and one-way or return option. Currency conversion does not automatically include card fees or local extras.
Add flights, accommodation, airport transfers, local transport, food, admissions and activities, connectivity and insurance, plus a contingency. Use your actual dates, party size and booking quotes instead of an unsupported universal trip budget.
Compare seasons with monthly temperature and rainfall
Conditions vary between cities in the same country. These are 1991–2020 monthly station averages; rainfall is the average monthly total across available years. A dash means no usable value is available.
